I can't believe he's been gone for 3 weeks already...
Last week we got the "I'm cold and hungry and I don't know how to keep going..." letter...
Yesterday, he called..... I was sleeping (had worked 11-7) but he sounded much better... didn't ask how he was doing... it was a very short call.
He will be coming home for Christmas... I can't wait to meet him at the airport!!!

I can't believe it's Wednesday already...
Missed his call yesterday (around noon.... he left a message on the answering machine) -- was hoping he would call later but he didn't.
It's dreary here today... I worked on my charity quilt, and some other odds and ends around here, and poached some chicken for chicken salad.

Wondering what he's doing
I worked 3-11 last night, so I don't know whether he called or not.... I would expect that he did not call... probably now it the "Sunday only", "only as an incentive" phase of BCT.
I find myself thinking about him almost all day long, wondering "what he's doing now" --

My son the soldier
Davids called yesterday "Hi! Momma!" --- it was so funny to hear him say that.... He never calls me "Momma".
He said he expected to go to BCT today... hoping that means he is a week ahead of schedule.

Now an Army Mom
Wow..... hard to believe that I am now an Army Mom.... David left here last week (10/27/08) to go to Fort Leonard Wood, MO. He is going to be a combat engineer.
He has called home just about every day. He sounds really upbeat and confident in his decision. I am so very proud of him.
