He's HOME!!!

We picked him up yesterday morning in Philly... ON TIME!!!

The weather was looking pretty bad here when we left, sleet and freezing rain, but the roads were not bad and David's plane was actually due in about 20 minutes early.

He looks so great. He walks taller, with more self confidence than I have ever witnesses in him. I am thrilled with the changes.

I love him so much!!! I am so very proud of him.

One day and a wake up!!!

Yippppppeeeee!!!! I work tonight, tomorrow finish what I can around here..... and Friday I get to pick him up!!!

The weather here yesterday was BAD.... snow/sleet/freezing rain... this am, schools are running 2 hours late... our road is slush covered. Tomorrow evening into Friday they are predicting snow/freezing rain. I hope not... I don't want David stuck in STL airport waiting for the weather to clear...

4 days and a wake up!!!

I am really getting excited!!! The weather looks good so far... I can't wait to see him come thru the doors at the airport!

We are going to Sharon's on Sunday... I finally get to meet Dakota and Skylar. They are so cute... hard to believe that they are almost 3 and I have never had a chance to meet them.

I hope that David calls today. I miss talking to him (I missed his call last week because I was in Ocean City)

Count down continues....

9 days!!! I can't wait to go to Philly to pick him up. I have been at the beach with my sister since last Friday, so I haven't been able to get any mail he might have sent. I did send him 2 letters from here in OC.

I am so eager to see him in uniform....

Until I pick him up from the airport!!! I am so excited to see the amazing young man that he has become.

The change in his voice is incredible... he is calm, confident and self assured.

HOO RAH!!!

It's been 3 weeks already....

I can't believe he's been gone for 3 weeks already...

Last week we got the "I'm cold and hungry and I don't know how to keep going..." letter...

Yesterday, he called..... I was sleeping (had worked 11-7) but he sounded much better... didn't ask how he was doing... it was a very short call.

He will be coming home for Christmas... I can't wait to meet him at the airport!!!

I can't believe it's Wednesday already...

Missed his call yesterday (around noon.... he left a message on the answering machine) -- was hoping he would call later but he didn't.

It's dreary here today... I worked on my charity quilt, and some other odds and ends around here, and poached some chicken for chicken salad.

Wondering what he's doing

I worked 3-11 last night, so I don't know whether he called or not.... I would expect that he did not call... probably now it the "Sunday only", "only as an incentive" phase of BCT.

I find myself thinking about him almost all day long, wondering "what he's doing now" --

My son the soldier

Davids called yesterday "Hi! Momma!" --- it was so funny to hear him say that.... He never calls me "Momma".

He said he expected to go to BCT today... hoping that means he is a week ahead of schedule.

Now an Army Mom

Wow..... hard to believe that I am now an Army Mom.... David left here last week (10/27/08) to go to Fort Leonard Wood, MO. He is going to be a combat engineer.

He has called home just about every day. He sounds really upbeat and confident in his decision. I am so very proud of him.
